Richmond County District Attorney Michael E. McMahon today announced that Leon Morris, 55, has been indicted on charges including Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree and Menacing in the Second Degree for the assault of his former supervisor at Staten Island University Hospital.
Richmond County District Attorney Michael E. McMahon and NYPD Commissioner James P. O’Neill today announced the takedown of a heroin distribution ring that operated predominately on the South Shore of Staten Island. The main target, Anthony Olsovi, 45, is accused of selling more than 3,200 glassines of heroin to NYPD undercover officers over the course of the investigation. Six additional defendants were also indicted for varying drug-dealing charges, with Olsovi facing top-count charges of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree. He has also been charged with Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree for his role in the operation.
Staten Island District Attorney Michael E. McMahon today announced that Dominic Poveromo has pleaded guilty to Burglary in the Second Degree as a Hate Crime for separate incidents in which the defendant stole cash sums from the homes of octogenarians, all women, after gaining entry into each of the victims’ residences through deception and trickery.
