Statement by Staten Island District Attorney Michael E. McMahon on the Passing of Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson
“My family and I, and the entire Staten Island District Attorney’s Office, extend our deepest thoughts and prayers to the Thompson family and all of those in Brooklyn who tonight have lost a tremendous leader and brilliant and passionate advocate for justice. Ken Thompson expected and demanded excellence of the criminal justice system, of those who worked for him and around him, and like any role model, he also expected and demanded it of himself. His legacy will undoubtedly be his unshakeable belief in the enduring power within all of us to improve our justice system so that every citizen in this City is treated equally under the law. In this regard, Ken’s voice and advocacy will not soon be replaced and he will be very deeply missed.” – Staten Island District Attorney Michael E. McMahon
