Statement of District Attorney
Daniel M. Donovan, Jr. on the Decision of United States Attorney General
Alberto R. Gonzalez to seek the Death Penalty in the Case of the United
States v. Ronell Wilson
“I fully support Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez’s decision
to allow United States Attorney Roslynn Mauskopf to seek the death penalty
against Ronell Wilson. I believed, and my actions in seeking the death
penalty in the State case indicated, that in this most heinous of crimes
it was always appropriate to seek capital punishment. While the State
case against Ronell Wilson remains open at this time my office’s
capital team remains committed to assisting the U.S. Attorney’s
office with the prosecution of their case.”
