D.A. Donovan Announces Appointments
to Executive Assistant, Deputy Bureau Chief Positions

STATEN ISLAND, NY- Richmond County District Attorney Daniel M. Donovan,
Jr. today announced the appointment of Timothy J. Koller, to the position
of Executive Assistant District Attorney, and Wanda DeOliveira to the
position of Deputy Chief of the Sex Crimes/Special Victims Bureau.
“I am delighted to announce the promotion of these two talented
individuals who have already offered so much service to the people of
Staten Island,” stated District Attorney Donovan. “Our borough
has been made unquestionably safer through the abilities of these two
veteran prosecutors.”
Timothy J. Koller, whose appointment was effective August 31st, has
served as Chief of the Richmond County District Attorney’s (RCDA)
Supreme Court Bureau since 1991, where he has been responsible for attorney
training, case assignments, monitoring of grand jury matters, felony
trials and oversight of homicide investigations and prosecutions. Mr.
Koller joined the RCDA in August 1980 as an Assistant District Attorney
following a successful academic record at the Notre Dame College of
St. John’s University and Pace University School of Law, earning
a Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctorate degree respectively. Prior
to becoming Chief of the Supreme Court Bureau, Mr. Koller also served
as Chief of the RCDA’s Investigations Bureau and Career Criminal
Unit.
Timothy J. Koller is a member of the Richmond County Bar Association,
New York State and National District Attorneys’ Association and
has served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at St. John’s University
since 2003. Mr. Koller is filling a vacancy created earlier this year
when Daniel L. Master, Jr. was elevated to Chief Assistant District
Attorney.
Wanda L. DeOliveira has been appointed the Deputy Chief of the RCDA’s
Sex Crimes Special Victims Bureau where she will assist Bureau Chief
Yolanda L. Rudich. A graduate of St. John’s University with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and the university’s
School of Law with a Juris Doctorate, Ms. DeOliveira joined the RCDA
in September 2000 and has been assigned to the office’s Investigations
Bureau. Prior to joining the RCDA, Ms. DeOliveira began her legal career
in 1992 as an Assistant District Attorney under Kings County District
Attorney Charles J. Hynes, where she rose to the rank of Senior Assistant
District Attorney. She departed that position in 1997 to work as a sole
practitioner until joining the RCDA.
