D.A. DONOVAN SWEARS-IN S.I. NATIVE
ANN D. THOMPSON AS NEWEST PROSECUTOR
***Ann D. Thompson, 35, of Port Richmond,
Sworn in as Newest Member of D.A.’s Criminal Court Bureau***
STATEN ISLAND, NY – Richmond County District
Attorney Daniel M. Donovan, Jr. today officially introduced Ann D. Thompson,
as the newest member of his office’s Criminal Court Bureau as
she was sworn-in to her position of Assistant District Attorney in front
of a gathering of her family and District Attorney’s office personnel.
“I am delighted to welcome Ann Thompson, a native
Staten Islander, to my office as our newest Assistant District Attorney,”
stated District Attorney Donovan. “I am confident that her outstanding
academic and professional credentials will serve her well as she joins
my dedicated team of prosecutors in serving the people of this community.”
A native of the Park Hill section of Staten Island,
Ann Thompson attended Staten Island’s public elementary schools
and Notre Dame Academy for junior high and high schools. A.D.A. Thompson
is joining the D.A.’s office following four years of executive
service at Mocha Moms, Inc., a support group for stay at home mothers
of color which provides information on child rearing and other family
topics. A graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School, she
previously served as an associate attorney at two New York City based
law firms: Golembock, Eiseman, Assor, Bell & Peskoe as well as Brobeck,
Phelger and Harrison LLP.. She also attended foreign studies programs
at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and St. Anne’s College,
Oxford University.
Assistant District Attorney Thompson stated, “I
am honored to be working for and with District Attorney Donovan, who
is truly dedicated to running an office that aspires to uphold the highest
ideals of justice. I am also honored to be among a select group of talented
and gifted Assistant District Attorneys who have proven themselves committed
